Lemon Ball, Tom Thumb: Notocactus mammulosus
Also known as Parodia mammulosa, this easily grown desert cactus has a globular, dark-green body that is depressed and spineless at the top. It reveals 18–20 deeply notched ribs, with yellow-brown and brown-tipped spines. During most of summer, it has yellow flowers with a red stripe on the outer petals.

Care: In winter, keep compost dry, especially if the temperature falls below the level indicated; in summer, keep compost moist and feed every 2 weeks with weak liquid fertilizer. |
