Inch Plant, Silvery Inch Plant, Wandering Jew: Tradescantia zebrina
Also known as Tradescantia pendula and Zebrina pendula, this evergreen perennial has green leaves, 2–2 ½in (5–6.5cm) long, banded in glistening silver, with purple undersides. There are several forms, including ‘Quadricolor’ (leaves striped green, pink, red, and white) and ‘Purpusii’ (earlier known as Zebrina purpusii or Zebrina pendula purpusii), with leaves tinged purple.

Care: In winter, keep compost just moist; in summer, water more freely and feed every 2–3 weeks. Repot in spring when roots fill the pot, usually every 1–2 years. |
