Grape Ivy, Natal Vine, Venezuela Treebine: Cissus rhombifolia
Earlier known as Rhoicissus rhomboidea, this will climb and spread to 20ft (6m) in a greenhouse or conservatory. Dark-green leaves are each formed of 3 diamond-shaped, scalloped, spiny-edged leaflets. The form ‘Ellen Danica,’ known as the Mermaid Vine (pictured), is not as vigorous as the species; it is ideal for growing in a pot indoors.

Care: In winter, keep compost just moist; in summer, water freely and feed every 2–3 weeks. Repot in spring when roots fill the pot, usually every 1–2 years. |
