Aralia Ivy, Botanical Wonder, Fat-Headed Lizzie, Ivy Tree, Miracle Plant, Tree Ivy: X Fatshedera lizei
Evergreen shrub-like climber with 5-lobed green leaves. When young, it has a single stem, but develops further stems with age, then sprawls and climbs. It can be kept bushy by pinching out the growing tips to encourage further side-shoots to develop. ‘Variegata’ has leaves with creamy white blotches and edges, and is less vigorous than the all-green type.

Care: In winter, keep compost barely moist, but give more water if the temperature rises; in summer, water freely and feed every 2–3 weeks. Repot in spring when roots fill the pot, usually every year. |

Propagation: From late spring to midsummer, take 4–5in (10–13cm) cuttings. Place in 61°F (16°C). |
