Hen-and-Chicken Fern, King and Queen Fern, Mother Fern, Mother Spleenwort, Parsley Fern: Asplenium bulbiferum
Distinctive fern with arching stems that bear mid-green, carrot-like fronds with small bulbils along their edges; they tend to weigh down the fronds.

Care: In winter, keep compost slightly moist; in summer, water freely and feed every 3 weeks with weak liquid fertilizer. Repot in spring when roots fill the pot, usually every year when plants are small. |

Propagation: In late spring and summer, remove bulbils when they show small leaves and press them into pots of equal amounts moist peat and sharp sand. Repot bulbils when rooted; place in 50°F (10°C) until established. |
