Goat’s Horn Cactus: Astrophytum capricorne
Initially, this cactus has a globular body, later cylindrical. It is light green, with 7–8 prominent ribs from which brownish-black, curved spines develop. The body is dappled with white, flaky scales. From early to midsummer, it produces yellow flowers, 2in (5cm) wide, with reddish centers.

Summer: 50–70°F (10–21°C). Full sun, or direct light without full sun |

Care: In winter, keep compost dry; in summer, water whenever it becomes dry. Feed every 2 weeks from when buds show color to late summer. |

Propagation: Sow seeds in spring, in 75–80°F (24–27°C). |
