Crown Cactus, Fire-Crown Cactus: Rebutia senilis
Desert cactus with a pale-green, spherical stem depressed at its top and densely covered with silvery-white, bristly spines. During spring and midsummer, it bears funnel-shaped, carmine-red flowers, ¾in (18mm) wide, with red throats.

Spread: 3in (7.5cm), but eventually forms a cushion-like clump, 10–12in (25–30cm) wide |

Winter: 41–50°F (5–10°C). Full sun |
Summer: 50–70°F (10–21°C). Direct light without full sun |

Care: In winter, keep compost barely moist; in summer, water freely but allow the compost to dry out slightly between waterings, and feed every 2 weeks with weak liquid fertilizer. |

Propagation: Sow seeds in spring and place in 75°F (24°C). |
