Crown Cactus, Fire-Crown Cactus: Rebutia senilis
Desert cactus with a pale-green, spherical stem depressed at its top and densely covered with silvery-white, bristly spines. During spring and midsummer, it bears funnel-shaped, carmine-red flowers, ¾in (18mm) wide, with red throats.

Care: In winter, keep compost barely moist; in summer, water freely but allow the compost to dry out slightly between waterings, and feed every 2 weeks with weak liquid fertilizer. |
