Blushing Bromeliad: Nidularium fulgens
Stemless bromeliad with shiny, light-green arching leaves that form an urn at their base. The impressive flower is formed of red bracts tipped with green, together with 3-petaled, violet-blue flowers.

Care: In winter, keep compost barely moist and the urn filled with water; in summer, water moderately, keeping the urn filled, and feed every 4 weeks with weak liquid fertilizer. Repot in early summer. |

Propagation: Plants are usually short-lived; once the flowers fade, the rosette dies but the offsets continue growing. Detach them in spring, transfer to individual pots, and place in 64–70°F (18–21°C). |
