Blue-Flowered Torch: Tillandsia lindenii
Grown in a pot, it has dark-green, grass-like leaves, 12in (30cm) long. They arch outward and are purple on their undersides. During summer, a short, flattened head is produced, 6–8in (15–20cm) long, with pink bracts and white-throated blue flowers.

Care: In winter, keep compost just moist; in summer, water the compost moderately and feed every 5 weeks with weak liquid fertilizer. Repot in spring, usually every 3–4 years. |

Propagation: In early summer, remove offsets, transfer to individual pots, and place in 64–70°F (18–21°C). |
