Australian Ivy Palm, Australian Umbrella Tree, Octopus Tree, Queensland Umbrella Tree, Rubber Tree, Star Leaf, Umbrella Plant, Umbrella Tree: Schefflera actinophylla
Earlier known as Brassaia actinophylla, this evergreen tree has leaves formed of leathery, glossy leaflets. Young plants have 3 leaflets to each leaf; more mature plants develop 5 or 7, each about 7in (18cm) long and 2in (5cm) wide.

Care: In winter, keep compost moderately moist; in summer, water more freely and feed every 3–4 weeks. Repot in spring when roots fill the pot, usually every 2–3 years. For large plants, top-dress the compost. |

Propagation: Sow seeds in late winter or early spring in seed trays. Place in 70–75°F (21–24°C). |
