Sand Dollar, Sand Dollar Cactus, Sea Urchin Cactus, Silver Dollar: Astrophytum asterias
Cactus with a gray-green, flattened, hemisphere-like body covered with white spots and revealing 8 spineless ribs. During early and midsummer it produces pale, shiny yellow flowers.

Care: In winter, keep compost dry; in summer, water whenever it becomes dry. Feed every 2 weeks from when buds show color to late summer. |

Propagation: Sow seeds in spring, in 75–80°F (24–27°C). |
