If we humans dread the end of summer, think about how poor plants feel. People get coats and sweaters to arm against the elements, but they rely on us to keep them safe and happy. You’ve done a good job all season, but leave them outside too long after Labor Day, or bring them inside without proper prep, and it’s a shock to their little systems. It’s not often that we say it’s a matter of life and death, but this is one of those times.
This Weekend’s Assignment: Bring in your outdoor plants from outside, and get them acclimated to their new indoor home.
Make The Transition: It’s a crucial time in the year where you have to ask yourself: when do I make the move? And where should I put them? And will they live?
Keep Them Healthy All Year: There are several reasons why your plant friends are biting the dust. This might just be the year where you read up on your favorites, and figure out once and for all what’s killing them.

And Then Grow More!: Just because you’re indoors most of the time, doesn’t mean that you still can’t grow something green.
Remember, as with all of our Weekend Projects, just do what you have the time and energy to do. And hey, if you don’t feel like moving flower pots, choose one of our other weekend projects to get done.
