Pink Quill: Tillandsia cyanea
This tillandsia is grown in a pot rather than attached to a piece of wood or bark. The narrow green leaves, about 15in (38cm) long and 1in (25mm) wide, are reddish-brown at the base. During late summer, a short, central stem develops, producing a flower head of rose to red bracts, tinged green, and violet-blue flowers.
