Honey Plant, Porcelain Flower, Wax Plant: Hoya carnosa
Vigorous evergreen climber with oval, fleshy, mid-green leaves. From early summer to early autumn it produces umbrella-like heads, 3in (7.5cm) wide, of fragrant, white to flesh-pink, star-like flowers. When young, plants can be trained around a hoop 10–12in (25–30cm) wide, but later need more substantial supports. There are several forms, including some with variegated leaves.

Care: In winter, keep compost slightly moist; in summer, water freely if compost is well drained. Feed every 3 weeks from late spring to late summer. In late spring, repot plants with congested roots, usually every 2–3 years. |

Propagation: Take 3–4in (7.5–10cm) stem-tip cuttings during early and midsummer and insert in equal parts moist peat and sharp sand. Place in 61–64°F (16–18°C). |
