Hybrid Tuberous Begonia, Tuberous Begonia, Tuberous-Rooted Begonia: Begonia x tuberhybrida
Also known as Begonia Tuberhybrida Hybrids, these floriferous, tuberous-rooted plants have mid-green leaves and large, rose-like flowers from early summer to early autumn. Apart from being grown as houseplants, they can be planted in gardens for summer flowering. Individual flowers are 3–6in (7.5–15cm) across, in colors including scarlet, rose-pink, golden-yellow, crimson, and orange.

Summer: 55–64°F (13–18°C); avoid high temperatures. Direct light without full sun, or indirect light |
Care: When in flower, keep compost moist, but not waterlogged, and feed every 2–3 weeks. |

Propagation: Buy fresh plants each year, or put tubers in boxes of moist peat in 64°F (18°C) in early or mid-spring. When shoots develop, transfer the tubers to individual pots and lower the temperature slightly to 55°F (13°C). Later, place in 55–64°F (13–18°C). |
