Green Rays, Parasol Plant, Star Leaf, Umbrella Tree: Schefflera arboricola
Earlier known as Heptapleurum arboricolum, this bushy evergreen has shiny green leaves formed of 7–11 slender leaflets borne like the spokes of a parasol at the tops of stiff stems. ‘Variegata’ has leaves splashed in yellow.

Care: In winter, keep compost moderately moist; in summer, water freely but ensure good drainage, and feed every 3–4 weeks. Repot in spring when roots fill the pot, usually every 2–3 years. For large plants, top-dress the compost. |

Propagation: Sow seeds in late winter or early spring in seed trays. Place in 70–75°F (21–24°C). |
