Common Ivy, English Ivy: Hedera helix
Evergreen climber with a variable nature. Young plants have smaller and more lobed leaves than old ones. The range of cultivars used as houseplants is wide, including all-green types and variegated types (see sidebar).

Winter: 41–50°F (5–10°C). Full sun, or direct light without full sun |
Summer: 50–61°F (10–16°C). Indirect light or light shade |

Care: In winter, keep compost lightly moist; in summer, water more freely and feed every 2–3 weeks. Repot in spring when roots fill the pot, usually every 3 years. Top-dress large plants. |

Propagation: Take 3in (7.5cm) stem cuttings in summer. Place in 59–64°F (15–18°C). |
