Earlier known as a Ficus repens, this evergreen has a climbing, trailing nature and heart-shaped, dark-green leaves. Attractive cultivars include ‘Minima’ (small leaves, compact), ‘Sonny’ (variegated leaves with white edges), and ‘Variegata’ (leaves lined and marbled in cream and green).

Height: 4–5ft (1.2–1.5m), more when grown as a climber

Spread: 4–5ft (1.2–1.5m), more when grown as a climber

Winter: 45–50°F (7–10°C). Direct light without full sun

Summer: 50–61°F (10–16°C). Indirect light or light shade

Care: In winter, keep compost lightly moist; in summer, water freely and feed every 2 weeks. Repot in spring when roots fill the pot, usually every 2 years.

Propagation: Take 2–4in (5–10cm)-long cuttings during spring and early summer. Place in 64°F (18°C).
