Butterfly Flower, Poor Man’s Orchid: Schizanthus pinnatus
This bushy annual is grown as a half-hardy annual in temperate climates. During spring and early summer, plants produce masses of orchid-like flowers amid pale-green, almost fern-like leaves. Flower colors include yellow, purple, and rose, with attractive markings and spots. These plants can also be grown outdoors in warm, temperate climates, when they flower from midsummer to early autumn.
