Asparagus Fern, Fern Asparagus, Florist Fern, Lace Fern: Asparagus setaceus
Earlier known as Asparagus plumosus, this evergreen perennial is really a climbing plant, but in its juvenile, non-climbing stage is an ideal houseplant, with mid-green, lace-like leaves borne in horizontal tiers.
Height: 15–18in (38–45cm) in its juvenile form |
Spread: 15–24in (38–60cm) in its juvenile form |
Winter: 41–45°F (5–7°C). Direct light without full sun |
Summer: 45–55°F (7–13°C). Indirect light or light shade |
Care: In winter, keep compost only slightly moist; in summer, water more freely and feed every 2–3 weeks with weak liquid fertilizer. Repot in spring when roots fill the pot, usually every 1–2 years. |

Propagation: Divide congested plants in spring or early summer. Until established, place in 45°F (7°C). |
